C is for Campaign
My campaign began as a Basic Dungeons & Dragons game set in the “Know World”. I bought all the Gazetteers, a wall sized map of the “Known World”, and as many of the modules as I could get my hands on. Then we decided to convert to Advanced Dungeons & Dragons when Second Edition came out. We converted our characters over and continued to have fun in world. Along the way, I created a splinter group of Drow called the Acacian Elves. These were Drow that turned their backs on Lilith. After about three years of running this campaign, I drew to a close and began new one where elves were the dominate species.
So, Alfmeir was born. The world of elves located in the same sphere as the Known World so porting characters over was allowed. I was just getting into the swing of things when life got in the way. The woman I married and I hit some rough stuff and we divorced. Thus ended my gaming group and my campaign. I’ve tried starting a new group from time to time, but never with much success. So, I’ve devoted my gaming energies to creating a city for other GMs. I’ve been working on ideas for it off and on for almost 13 years. Now, I’m trying to pull everything from notebooks and present them to the world on a sub-site of BaedonWebz. You can find this project by going to Project Chandar.
My advice for a continuing campaign: Keep it fun, small, and never marry one of you players.
