Christianity was not a new religion
Christianity was not a new religion as most Christians claim. It was based on older religions, as every religion does. The 25th of December was chosen to be Christmas day because of an ancient celebration that was taking place that day. The victory of Mithras against the darkness .
Simon-Peter took his name out of the Greek word “petra” that means stone. The official explanation is that Jesus was calling him like that because he was bold, so his head looked like a stone. With that nickname there was no confusion with Simon (the other student). I also have to remind you that Peter was the keeper of heaven’s and hell’s keys. Those symbols ware taken directly form Mithraism, where the believers worship the Mystic Stone and that the symbol of Mithra is the keys of heaven and hell. The image of the good shepherd are taken except from Mithraism, from the ancient Greek religion where both Apollo and Hermes appear to carry a ship on their back.
In the scrolls found at 1949 in Qumran, from a Palestine shepherd, and they are known as Dead Sea Scrolls, we can find the main ideas of Christianity, also the ideas of the “the end of the world”. But those scrolls ware about 100 years older the Jesus!
